Alibaba Cloud is pairing up with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to provide its superior AI-enhanced Multi-Camera Replay Service for the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024 event.
At the time of writing, the firm has just finished its testing rounds at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai and will be further used at the main competition through specialized video processing done at the edge and cloud environment, captured via all the cameras placed at strategic angles.
The data is then delivered to cloud-based 3D models with high-quality textures that form virtual frames from new viewpoints, resulting in 3D reconstruction of the venue in high detail with smooth rotation and accurate representation.
This AI-based service is then integrated into OBS’s general broadcasting and production system providing a seamless workflow transition and a more content-rich stream for fans to immerse in the action. Ever since the introduction of the system at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, Alibaba Cloud is once again ready to support yet another global event with cutting-edge technology and innovative application of its offering.
