MSI has just launched the latest MPG series, MAG series, and PRO series B650 motherboards to support the newly released AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. Let’s take a look at them.
Before we start talking about the differences between the three series, all of these motherboards feature an extended heatsink for optimum heat dissipation, as well as 7W/mK thermal pads and choke pads for more reliable performance.
On top of that, the M.2 Shield Frozr further stabilizes M.2 SSDs and avoids immediate throttling during high-speed reading and writing. Up to 16+2+1 Duet Rail Power System and dual CPU power connectors are also included in these MSI B650 motherboards.
Connectivity-wise, the motherboards are packed with all the essential ports which include a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps) Type-C connector together with 2.5G LAN and Wi-Fi 6E for high transferring speed.
Thanks to a dedicated SMT welding process and exclusive Memory Boost technology, the MSI B650 motherboards are able to achieve up to an impressive 6600MHz. They also support both AMD EXPO technology and A-XMP (Intel XMP) profiles to provide users with more convenience when choosing compatible memory modules.
MPG Series
Available in two color options: Carbon-Black and Silver-White, the MPG Series support up to 4 x M.2 slots and 6 x SATA ports. Both the MPG B650 CARBON WIFI and MPG B650 EDGE WIFI feature PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot which are capable of utilizing the max potential of AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors.
As for the MPG B650I EDGE WIFI, it is a mini-ITX motherboard that sports a silver-white appearance tailored for those of you who love building a white scheme compact-sized PC.
MAG Series
On the other hand, the MAG Series sports simple lines and solid shapes that offer the appearance of tough armor. The MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI and MAG B650M MORTAR WIFI boast a robust 80A Smart Power Stage of VRM power, dual 8-pin CPU power connectors, two M.2 Shield Frozrs, as well as Audio Boost 5 technology to deliver more than just the fundamentals to DIY beginners.
PRO Series
Last but not least, the PRO Series’ design is tailored for any commercial and office use. The PRO B650-P WIFI and PRO B650M-A WIFI are equipped with many of MSI’s iconic features, including Steel Armor, Extended Heatsink, M.2 Shield Frozr, and Flash BIOS Button. Both of them also support two PCIe 4.0 slots and M.2 slots for storage expansion.
