Hitachi Vantara officially rolled out a bunch of upgrades to its Hitachi iQ portfolio, and it’s all about making AI actually usable at scale inside enterprise environments. We’re talking better AI blueprints, smarter multi-agent coordination in Hitachi iQ Studio, expanded infrastructure powered by NVIDIA, and tighter data integration so companies can run agentic AI within their own controlled setups.
With companies hitting the wall from being difficult to move from AI experiments to real deployment, on top of data not being well structured and secured enough, it truly is a problem, as reports showing only about 42% of organizations in North America are considered “data-mature,” but those that are see way better AI returns. So yeah, having solid data foundations is becoming the real competitive edge here.
That’s pretty much where Hitachi iQ comes in – it’s designed to bridge that gap by combining infrastructure, AI tools, and governance into one stack. According to Octavian Tanase, the idea is to give companies more flexibility and control as they push AI from pilot stages into full production, especially as demand ramps up faster than most data systems can handle.
On the hardware side, they’re also expanding compute options in a big way, with iQ now supporting NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell GPUs – including air-cooled and liquid-cooled variants – plus new server setups with RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, and even upcoming support for the RTX PRO 4500. So whether it’s model training, fine-tuning, or inference, companies can better match their hardware to their workloads without worrying as much about power, cooling, or space constraints.
On the other hand, Hitachi iQ Studio now comes with structured AI blueprints where you’ve got “worker” agents doing tasks and “supervisor” agents coordinating everythin, while support for NVIDIA’s Nemotron models has been expanded, and there’s even a “time machine” feature that lets AI systems navigate historical data with more context, which is actually huge for industries that rely on long-term trends.
Lastly, Hammerspace is now better than ever as it can make it easier for AI agents to access and work with distributed data without having to move it around. Everything stays governed within Hitachi’s VSP One platform, so you’re not sacrificing security or performance just to get things done faster.
