Genting Malaysia has signed an MoU with AGIBOT that helps the big resort player to adopt AI robotics into real-world resort environments.
Formalized during the AGIBOT Partners Conference 2026 in Shanghai, both sides are coming together to build a joint framework that actually turns robotics into something practical across hospitality and entertainment. So instead of just lab demos, you’re looking at real deployments – things like humanoid robots handling guest interactions, concierge roles, and service functions, while also being integrated into live shows and immersive attractions.
The collaboration focuses on 3 main verticals of theme parks, leisure and hospitality, and entertainment, while also covering joint R&D, pilot programmes, and eventually scaling these into full ecosystems. And GENM isn’t waiting around either, since they’re already planning to acquire and deploy AGIBOT’s robots for initial rollout across their properties.
You’ll probably see the first big public-facing result at Resorts World Genting, where AGIBOT is planning Malaysia’s first Robotics Gala Performance. That’s scheduled for early 2027, and the idea is to showcase AI-powered robots in a live performance setting – essentially blending robotics with entertainment in a way that hasn’t really been done locally before.
From GENM’s side, COO Aaron Chia framed this as part of a broader push to evolve guest experiences as expectations shift, while AGIBOT’s President of ME/APAC Abel Deng positioned it as a milestone for deploying embodied AI at scale in integrated resorts.
