EDOTCO Malaysia has announced they are once again launching its Vendor Development Program (VDP) with a refreshed take and direction to match the growing digital industry’s needs.

EDOTCO Malaysia Vendor Development Program

Created back in 2018 to get participants of various vendors, partners, or someone rolling in the SME scene to match EDOTCO’s operational standards and strategic objectives, the VDP now is gunning for 5 key areas in the tower industry, namely:

  • Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)
  • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
  • Integrity
  • Business Continuity Management
  • Rollout Operations

Through the incorporation of globally accepted concepts and practices from industry guidelines, standards, and regulations, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ISO 45001, and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act, EDOTCO Malaysia hopes its revamped module can help business partners and SMEs to adopt sustainable practices and potentially qualify for the ESG Adoption Fund grant, worth RM40,000, allocated by the Government.

EDOTCO will be starting off the program with the ESG topic by giving participants access to the Government’s Skim Insentif Kelestarian, a program designed by the Centre for Entrepreneur Development & Research (CEDAR), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SME Bank, and co-developed with UNGC Malaysia & Brunei.

Additionally, EDOTCO is preparing our supply chain to align with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for Scope 3 GHG emissions, supporting the government’s long-term goal of achieving net zero by 2050. This alignment ensures vendors remain competitive and contribute to Malaysia’s sustainability objectives.

Here are some statements opened by key figures during the launch:

“This program is a testament to our long-term commitment to building a robust, efficient, and sustainable supply chain. It is not just about enhancing the skills and capabilities of our vendors, but also about fostering their long-term growth and success, As the largest TowerCo in the country, we take pride in supporting the development of Malaysian SMEs with whom we have long-standing relationships. The Vendor Development Program is our contribution to nation-building. By investing in these vendors through this program and providing certifications, we not only boost their performance but also increase their credibility to bid for projects across Malaysia. This, in turn, fosters greater value creation for the country and a brighter future for our vendors.” – Adlan Tajuddin, CEO of EDOTCO Group

“In line with our aspiration to be the centre of excellence for entrepreneur development and transformation, CEDAR is happy to be partnering with EDOTCO in enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs through the adoption of
sustainable practices via their Vendor Development Program. This programme is a commendable initiative that aligns with the pursuit of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 mission for a transition to a greener manufacturing industry. As this critical date is fast approaching, this valuable partnership allows greater access for companies to proactively take action to reduce the risks of ESG non-compliance and improve operational inefficiencies.” – Amirul Imran Ahmat, CEO of CEDAR
