OpenAI has officially opened up access to the “affordable paid package version” of ChatGPT, the ChatGPT Go plan, for a total of 16 countries in its latest announcement, and that includes Malaysia as well.
As part of its commitment to help grow AI adoption in Malaysia, with the weekly active ChatGPT users having increased 2.5x in the past year, this will be the tech overlord’s attempt at harvesting some real ROI from its multi-billion-dollar business operation. With ChatGPT Go, the first goodie is the ability to utilize GPT-5 for handling user requests.
Yeah, despite the latest GPT model receiving tons of backlash due to the surrounding hype to its pre-launch, OpenAI apparently is still offering access to it, so it’s up to the user whether the “5” is suitable for them, and if not, rolling back to the mainstream “4” model is always available.
In any case, the Go package also includes 10x higher message limits, 10x more image generations, and 10x more file or image uploads per day, along with 2x longer memory for more personalized interactions. It’s designed for everyday needs such as writing help, tutoring, creative guidance, self-care support, and more.
This new tier offers a 30% lower entry barrier to the Plus plan, where it goes for RM99.90 and offers a whole lot more but certainly overkill capabilities for daily users who just want some simple help with daily chores and light work-related tasks.
