Biwin has announced the new UV200 which is a USB flash drive built specifically for the kind of continuous recording workloads modern vehicles generate, from ongoing dashcam footage to parking surveillance and in-car media playback.

Running on a USB 3.2 Gen1 interface, it delivers up to 200 MB/s read and 80 MB/s write speeds while maintaining a sustained full-capacity write speed of at least 60MB/s to allow consistent recording for automotive use cases such as multi-channel dashcam footage and extended parking surveillance.

Built to handle load quietly, it is also a low-profile and compact unit that uses an integrated MUDP structure that avoids blocking nearby ports or sticking out into the cabin. The UV200 is rated to operate across -25°C to 75°C, with storage tolerance extending from -40°C to 85°C, and includes 1-metre drop protection for added durability during handling and transport.

On the storage side, it uses high-endurance 3D TLC NAND suited to the repetitive overwrite patterns common in dashcam and surveillance loop recording, which puts a different kind of strain on flash memory than occasional file transfers. It’s available starting at 128GB, and beyond recording workloads, it can also store high-quality FLAC and WAV music libraries for playback through supported vehicle systems.

While built primarily for in-car use, the UV200 also works with laptops and desktops, making it easy to move footage, music, or other files between the vehicle and a home or office setup. It comes in a Midnight Violet finish to blend into daily use both inside and outside the car, and is backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
