Yesterday, ASUS Malaysia has released a new range of products for the Vivobook family which are all OLED-equipped devices to suit the visual fidelity and computing needs of casual lifestyle creators.
First we have the Vivobook 14X OLED that features the brand’s iconic DialPad that turns the touchpad into virtual buttons for allowing access to a variety of quick shortcuts for tools and functions in compatible Adobe creative softwares to stay fully focused and not wasting time clicking through menus just to get something simple done. And there’s the stunning 14-inch 2.8K OLED panel with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, PANTONE validated and provides up to 600nits of peak brightness that also earns itself the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification.
ASUS also takes care of those who just need pure computing juice while enjoying great colors in a single package through the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED. The lineup features AMD’s mobile CPU and NVIDIA’s mobile GPU to make up for it while the 15-inch NanoEdge FHD OLED is still looking great at this form factor. Combined with Harmon Kardon certified speakers, dual fan cooling systems and physical webcam shutter, users that are not in the creative work zone will definitely find this appealing.
Lastly, the Vivobook 15 OLED provides a low entry barrier that matches the price of conventional laptops in the market right now which is all the better for us buyers because that may push the widespread adoption of OLED panels for other brands as well (But only in the sense of adding OLED options but not replacing the standard IPS standard). At the a lower price point, that does mean that the overall computing components are weaker but they are just enough for casual document work and light photo/video editing that doesn’t break the bank. And what do you know. It runs the same panel as the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED and also features Harmon Kardon certified speakers for decent audio experience.
