ASUS Malaysia has announced that they have brought in the new workstation-class GPU from AMD, and they gave it the name of Turbo Radeon AI Pro R9700.
Armed with 32GB of VRAM, this card is aimed solely at professionals and AI developers who need that large chunk oif memory to run heavy models locally, while keeping the card as compact as possible with its slim 2-slot profile. Considering the fact that people who buy this sort of GPU often deploy multiples of them within a system, the slim profile actually works well for that scenario.
The blower-style cooler pushes hot air directly out of the case, keeping system temperatures stable while the diecast metal shroud and backplate not only reinforce the card’s structure but also improve heat dissipation, with unique wave patterns that reduce memory temperature by up to 16% compared to conventional designs. Adding to that, ASUS uses a phase-change GPU thermal pad that liquifies to fill microscopic gaps for better heat transfer and longer-lasting performance than standard thermal paste.
Beyond that, ASUS also employed its GPU Guard design by applying adhesive to secure all four corners of the GPU die for improved endurance, while a 304 stainless steel bracket provides extra corrosion resistance for long-term reliability.
