Continuing the first wave of release for Intel’s Z790 chipset dedicated to the 13th Gen Core desktop processors, ASUS is adding 3 new models yet again, one each for ROG, TUF, and the ProArt family.

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX

The first one is the ROG Maximus Z790 Apex, the overclocking professionals around the world’s choice of motherboard that provides the best platform for overclocking particularly the CPU and DRAM. The robust power solution contains better PSU plugs contact, improved heat dissipation, and stronger reliability thanks to the 4+0 teamed power stages rated for 105A, enlarged VRM heatsinks, and the 8+8 ProCool II power connectors.

For the liquid cooling boys, the ROG Water Cooling Zone dual water-temperature headers and flow-rate header feed information straight into ROG’s intuitive Fan Xpert 4 utility allowing users to rule over the heat information and tune better graphs if necessary. The board also offers a pair of PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for next-gen GPUs while a variety of M.2 slots for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 in the form of motherboard slots and DIMM.2 add-in cards makes enough room for all sorts of flash storage.

The Z790’s enhanced connectivity options also expand into the Apex with 2.5GbE and WiFi 6E being the bread and butter while the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 on the rear I/O panel transfer files with blazing speed.

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790 PLUS WIFI

TUF Gaming’s enhanced durability and essential gaming features are also shown in the TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi arming 8+8 ProCool II power connectors and 16+1 DrMOS power stages for reliable power delivery and support for DDR5 memory (Yes, this board is not the D4 variant). Hosting the PCIe Slot Q-Release button for easy GPU removal, benchmarkers will be delighted to use this as their base of testing. A single PCIe 5.0 x16 slots powers today’s fastest GPUs and the usual things like 2.5GbE, WiFi 6E, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 are present as well.

ASUS ProArt Z790 Creator WiFi

Since the premium SKUs of the 13th Gen Intel Core desktop CPUs are tried and tested to show diminishing returns in 4K gaming and much more in content creation, creators will definitely need the ProArt Z790-Creator WiFi sporting the signature clean design and graceful angles for the best experience possible. DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 x16 (two at that) is the name of the game while 4x onboard M.2 slots will host all the SSDs needed to store the RAW video files of high definition.

The Thunderbolt 4 plus USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 combo offers unprecedented connectivity options in terms of peripheral and display connection while 2.5GbE and WiFi 6E handle LAN and Internet connection with ease.

Availability

As these boards are fresh new out of the oven, local availability for these 3 Z790 motherboards is still undetermined at the moment.
