ASUS has announced a new “support gear” for those who are chasing that heavy-duty multi-GPU workstation setup – Introducing the ASUS Pro WS Platinum series PSUs.
Coming in wattage choices of 1600W, 2200W, and 3000W, these are created for the beefy prosumer workstation capable of hosting things like 4x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 for starters – Heck, feel free to go for NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 as well as AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 chips as the PSU has no problem supporting them from the get go.
Regardless of how much W they can push, all models are surprisingly compact at 175mm in length, making them easier to fit into a variety of cases while improving airflow and cable management. Each unit features gold-plated copper pins on the PCIe connectors, which ASUS claims help lower connector temperatures by up to 10°C and boost power delivery efficiency.
You’re also getting dual-ball bearing fans, extruded aluminum heatsinks, and Japanese server-grade capacitors, which contribute to the PSUs’ 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency rating as well as things like ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compatibility. Oh, it is also easy to install thanks to the flexible etched cables and clearly marked connectors for the CPU and GPU.
Availability
Malaysia will be getting the ASUS Pro WS Platinum series, but at a later date that is not disclosed at the time of writing.
