ASUS brought us all to Genting Highlands today to witness the launch of the brand new A and K series of the ASUS VivoBook Ultra series of laptops. This series is made to be the “ultrabook” without the high price tax, yet able to be on par in terms of weight and specs.

ASUS launched the new VivoBook Ultra A412 and A512, together with the new K403.

Starting with the new VivoBook Ultra A412 and A512, they are both essentially the same but with different screen sizes. We also just reviewed the VivoBook Ultra A512 in-depth here.

VivoBook Ultra launch

These two laptops have a surprisingly small footprint. The A512 with a 15.6-inch screen felt like a 14-inch laptop thanks to its NanoEdge bezels. ASUS also included the ErgoLift hinge to make sure you are comfortable even after hours of typing on the laptop itself.

They’re also a little crazy this time around as they included a 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x2 SSD into the laptop itself. Then, they included a “HDD upgrade kit” for you if you ever want to slot in your own 2.5-inch storage disk in the future.

Not only that, it is available in 4 different colors which are really bright and shiny. They are Transparent Silver, Peacock Blue, Slate Grey, and also Coral Crush. Personal favorite – Coral Crush all the way! ?

Here are the specs for both the ASUS VivoBook Ultra A412 and A512. The price of both the VivoBook Ultra A412 and A512 are at RM2,899:

Then comes the next – the VivoBook Ultra K403. It’s similar to the A412, but comes with a big twist. Instead of packing an NVIDIA GPU, ASUS decided to include double the battery capacity and make it even more power-efficient.

ASUS claims that the VivoBook Ultra K403 can last for up to 24 hours of continuous usage. That is mindblowing and I am really interested in how that thing actually works!
