Look, the world needs only 2 groups of people when it comes to computer mice – non-gaming and gaming, maybe some of them without any strings attached (literally). Any other “perks” are irrelevant. Look at how the Internet responded to the idea of a “subscription-based” mouse by Logitech’s CEO last year. Now ASUS is trying its hands to push for another “Isn’t It Incredible” moment – MOUSE WITH SCENTED OIL.

ASUS Fragrance Mouse (3)

Called the Fragrance Mouse MD101, from looks alone you’d expect it to be the usual ergonomic and comfy wireless mouse that supports Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections via USB dongle and is powered by a single AA battery. Fairly standard, I know.

But popping out the lid on the underside, you’ll see there are additional slots for, you guessed it, scented oil vials so that they can emit fragrance during use!

ASUS did clarify that the scented oil compartment is removable, is hand-wash friendly, and can be topped up with different fragrances to the user’s desire. And yes, they won’t provide any within retail units because ASUS isn’t a perfume company.

Barring the potential clash between one’s sweaty palms and the emitting fragrance making things worse, instead, why not insert some freshly brewed coffee and enjoy the “coffee shop vibe” brought to you by a mouse?

Availability

At the time being, ASUS has yet to reveal any pricing and launch date for the Fragrance Mouse MD101. Let’s hope that this “4D tech moment” could sell like hot cakes when it’s available.
