So ASUS just dropped a major update to its gaming monitor lineup with the new TUF Gaming Series, and there’s a lot to unpack as the series includes over 20 models, all designed to hit different performance needs, and they’re packing some serious upgrades across five key areas: speed, smoothness, color, AI enhancements, and ease of use.
We’ll go through some of them for now, but let’s start with the flagship VG27AQML5A offering up to a 300Hz refresh rate and 0.3ms response time for minimal input lag and lightning-fast performance in competitive titles. On the other hand, ultra-wide fans can take a look at the VG34WQML5A equipped with a 34-inch panel providing a 250Hz refresh rate (OC) and 0.5ms response.
Aside from Adaptive Sync support of NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, the series will also feature ELMB Sync tech to combat ghosting during fast action. On the visual side, you’re getting up to 95% DCI-P3 coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 400, so games don’t just run well but look incredible with rich colors and solid contrast.
Some of the new software stuff comes in the form of Gaming AI that includes Dynamic Crosshair, which smartly shifts crosshair color based on your background, and Dynamic Shadow Boost, which brightens dark spots to help you spot lurking enemies. Pair that with AI Visual, which auto-tweaks your display based on what’s onscreen, and you’ve got a monitor that’s actively working to give you an edge.
Rounding it out is the revamped DisplayWidget Center software, where it now gives you full control over settings via mouse, so no more digging through clunky OSD menus, and lets you save, share, or even import monitor profiles from streamers and pro players. It’ll even ping you about firmware updates so your monitor stays on point.
