Ant International has launched the brand new Alipay+ Voyager feature that augments the experience of travellers across the world with the power of AI.
This all-in-one assistant is created to fulfill the general flow of a trip, from planning and booking to accessing services in the destination country – all within the apps powered by the brand’s technology backbone, such as Alipay, AlipayHK, and GCash. With a simple text or voice interface, the AI can understand user preferences in their local language, curate hyper-relevant options on the fly, and even step in proactively when things go wrong, like delays or bad weather.
Created to address the needs of the current mainstream market, which is Gen Z, these mobile-first traveler seeks seamless and hyperlocal experiences, and with Voyager, all of these are made possible thanks to partnerships with various partners, including Agoda, Trip.com, and Fliggy.
As mentioned, the feature is initially rolling out to Alipay, AlipayHK, and GCash just in time for the summer travel peak, with more wallets across the Alipay+ ecosystem to follow through 2025. The company’s larger vision includes building out more industry-specific AI tools via its Alipay+ GenAI Cockpit platform.
Agoda’s Gil Hazan noted that the partnership allows Agoda to extend its reach and create more personalized travel experiences by tapping into Alipay+’s extensive wallet network. Douglas Feagin, President of Ant International, added that embedding Voyager into widely-used wallets allows travel providers to meet consumers’ growing demand for integrated, AI-driven travel support.
With mobile now accounting for two-thirds of travel traffic and the global online travel market expected to grow 10% annually through 2032, Alipay+ Voyager positions itself as both a traveler’s companion and a growth gateway for OTAs and merchants alike.
