Over the past few years, almost every premium AIO liquid cooler followed the same formula. Take a good cooler, put an LCD screen on top, make it a little bigger, a little brighter, maybe even curve the display, and call it a day. Every brand is trying to stand out by making the screen more eye-catching for builders who love showing off their systems.

TRYX went down that path with the PANORAMA series and its curved AMOLED display, but why stop there? This year, the company is trying something completely different.

TRYX HOLO @ COMPUTEX 2026

This is the TRYX HOLO, first teased during COMPUTEX 2026. Instead of a typical display, it uses an optical projection system that creates the illusion of a holographic image floating inside the pump housing.

It certainly looks different, but it still needs to be a good cooler in the first place. Does it actually offer anything beyond the visual gimmick? Let’s find out.

Unboxing

Inside the box, you’ll find the radiator, ARGB fans, mounting hardware for both Intel and AMD platforms, and everything you need for installation. Since it uses an Asetek-based design, the installation process is familiar and straightforward.

The thermal paste comes pre-applied, the fans are already installed on the radiator. Because they’re designed as a single three-fan unit, cable management is much cleaner compared to installing three separate fans individually.

Holographic Display

Unlike a conventional OLED or IPS panel that simply shows content on a flat surface, the HOLO uses a prism to create a sense of depth. The animations appear separated from the background, giving the impression that they’re floating inside the transparent chamber that we can see through.

Now, there is one thing you should keep in mind. The display isn’t designed to compete with the curved AMOLED panel found on the TRYX PANORAMA. It doesn’t offer the same level of image brightness, sharpness, or detailed hardware monitoring widgets.

Instead, TRYX is prioritising visual presentation over resolution. The resolution in itself is actually at 640×480 pixels, making it a 4:3 aspect ratio. And honestly, that’s perfectly fine.

The KANALI Software

The TRYX KANALI software is where you customise the holographic display, upload animations, and configure the visual effects.

One thing worth mentioning is that not every GIF works well with the optical chamber. Since the projection relies on depth and perspective, animations created specifically for the HOLO tend to produce much better results than random GIFs downloaded from the internet. Try to find one with a transparent background.

TRYX already includes a number of curated animations that are designed around the display’s optical characteristics, and they definitely make the holographic effect look more natural.

Cooling Performance

Of course, impressive visuals don’t mean much if the cooler can’t keep your CPU under control. Fortunately, beneath all the fancy aesthetics is something we’ve trusted for years. The HOLO uses Asetek’s proven Gen8 V2 pump, so cooling performance is exactly what you’d expect from a premium 360mm AIO.

TRYX rates it to handle processors with up to a 280W thermal load, making it suitable for flagship CPUs like Intel’s Core Ultra 9 series and AMD’s Ryzen 9 lineup, even if they’re high-end CPUs.

We have both the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X running at stockclock speeds. This TRYX HOLO had no issues keeping temperatures comfortably below the thermal limit even during extended stress test. The pump noise is also very low throughout the test.

The bundled fans also provide plenty of airflow without becoming excessively noisy under normal operating conditions.

At the end of the day, you’re getting the same reliable cooling performance that we can expect from an Asetek AIO cooling solution, with a much more distinctive design.

Also, the TRYX FOBR fans – all-in-one 360mm ARGB fan that is included with the TRYX HOLO is also sold separately in both black and white colors. As what we’ve mentioned earlier, this fan offers easy installation as it has minimal cables.

Price and thoughts

And for this uniquely beautiful cooler design, the price is at RM699 here in Malaysia. It’s actually a pretty good price.

TRYX’s attempt to do something different with the HOLO has worked uniquely in their favor. Creativity pays off, as the company didn’t just slap on a display and make it larger and brighter. Behind the unique holographic visuals is still a proven cooling platform, so you’re not sacrificing thermal performance for aesthetics. Plus, the unique FOBR 3-in-1 360mm fan is a huge boon.

Of course, it won’t appeal to everyone. Some will still prefer a traditional LCD display and a platform to put the waifus on top, while others may not care about having a display at all.

But hey, this TRYX HOLO gives you a touch of personalization so that you can look at your PC every day and smile.
