Toshiba Malaysia officially launched a trio of new TVs for the local market this Tuesday that hosts some of the most essential modern features that make using the device much more appealing.
Let’s start with the best one in the house – the Z870M that packs a Mini-LED backlight with Full Array Local Dimming Pro for superior contrast ratio achieved via fine control over the backlight zones, leading to a wide range of HDR format support including Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, and HLG.
Powered by the new REGZA Engine ZRi chipset, the AI algorithm that comes with it is capable of refining images and videos with incredible upscaling quality to deliver output that is sharp and detailed. On the other hand, the color spectrum is further enhanced by Quantum Dot Colour technology for an accurate and vivid blend.
The audio department combines REGZA Power Audio Pro+ and Dolby Atmos on top of the REGZA Bass Woofer PRO with Tru Bass Booster to deliver sounds that are impactful in all spectrums and across the entire room so that everyone can enjoy every detail of their favorite movies.
On the other hand, gamers would be delighted to utilize Game Mode Pro which automatically applies the best settings in terms of color profiles and game-specific settings like refresh rate which the Z870M runs at 144Hz natively to match the kind of experience found on PCs and is especially true when you factor in AMD FreeSync eliminating tears and desyncs.
The Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) enhanced by AI AutoView Pro handles color and brightness optimization on the fly so one wouldn’t really notice it working in the back.
Some other notable features include IMAX Enhanced, Far Field Voice for remote control via speech, and Smart Sharing which allows Apple Homekit-compatible devices to share media and games.
Stepping down everything a bit for a more affordable price tag, the Z670M will occupy just that.
The “6” instead of the “8” makes it clear that this is a lower tier offering but it shares a lot of similarities with Z780M including REGZA Engine ZRi, Quantum Dot Technology, Dolby Vision Atmos and HDR, HDR10+, HLG, REGZA Power Audio Pro+, and Dolby Atmos.
The REGZA Bass System is not the same as the former in this case which signifies slightly less powerful but adequate for a tier-two product but the Front Firing Speakers kind of compensate on that by having enough power to disperse sound into every corner of the room.
It also has Game Mode Pro, AMD FreeSync Premium, 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), IMAX Enhanced, and more.
Last on the list is the M550M created to fit as many goodies as possible into a valuable and affordable package as part of the brand’s 70th anniversary goal.
Equipped with REGZA Engine ZR, the AI Upscaling and Color Re-Master Pro work together to provide visuals that deserve to be higher in this category while the REGZA Power Audio PRO and Tru Bass Booster continue to hold their crown in the audio segment.
Despite being a mid-range product, it is also a modern TV with Smart OS features like Google TV and Apple AirPlay for that matter.
