ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has just announced that it has partnered up with Basis Bay for the development, construction, and operation of data center projects in Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya in Malaysia
The initial project of the joint venture involves establishing its first data center campus in Cyberjaya, which will facilitate the construction of two buildings on a land area over three acres to deliver nearly 20MW for IT loads.
Named ‘Cyberjaya DC.2’, this first building is designed to be a highly secure, eco-green premium data center that focuses on serving local and international banks, financial institutions, government agencies, and other similar mission-critical sectors in 2024. Meanwhile, the second building ‘STT Kuala Lumpur 1’ will target the hyperscale segment and is expected to be completed by 2025.
Another fact of the day is that this strategic joint venture represents a unique partnership between the two companies, combining domestic direct investment (DDI) and foreign direct investment (FDI).
