SK hynix has a brand new product for the consumer market and that’s the brand new Beetle X31.
Poised as the brand’s first-ever portable SSD for people like you and me, it combines the best points of the Gold P31’s high power efficiency plus the Platinum P41’s raw performance.
Its speed can go up to 1050MB/s reads and 1000MB/s writes thanks to the DRAM cache and because of it, sustained speed can be maintained at over 900MB/s when transferring a single 500GB file.
The aluminum case contributes to effective heat dissipation, reducing the chance of thermal throttling while being highly durable against accidental drops of up to 2 meters plus a 3-year warranty for worry-free operation.
It is also quite compact, carrying the design philosophy of a beetle (a golden beetle from Egypt I suppose) that makes it only 53g light and has dimensions of just 74 x 46 x 14.8 mm.
The round edges provide extra grip as well and it can be used with a wide variety of modern devices like PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, consoles, and more.
With capacities of 512GB and 1TB, each unit comes with 2 USB cables of C-to-C and C-to-A alongside a bumper case.
