ROG Malaysia has publicly announced they will be bringing in the limited edition XBOX Ally X20 as part of the 20th anniversary celebration.
This version comes with a translucent black chassis with a gold-accented internal structure that gives it a strong throwback gaming aesthetic. At the same time, the hardware underneath is very much aimed at modern gaming, with AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and ROG’s new 7.4-inch Nebula HDR Display-certified OLED panel alongside as revamped cooling system.
For gamers looking to take the anniversary theme even further, the ROG XBOX Ally X20 will also be available as part of a special collector’s bundle that includes a custom dbrand Killswitch case with a built-in kickstand, gold-and-black accents and ruggedized grips. There is also a custom skin featuring a circuit-board pattern inspired by the handheld’s internal design, along with joystick covers carrying the ROG logo.
Keeping everything together is a custom Pelican Protector Case with red ROG latches and an exclusive 20th anniversary badge. The bundle also includes a 68W charger for gaming while travelling.
ROG is also pairing the handheld with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses. Designed specifically for the anniversary lineup, the glasses feature BOSE audio, a 240Hz micro-OLED display and a claimed 171-inch virtual screen when viewed from four metres away.
The glasses offer a 57-degree field of view, cover 95% of the focused field of view and have a 0.01ms response time. Native 3DoF tracking allows the virtual display to follow head movements, while Anchor Mode can keep the screen fixed in place.
The AR glasses connect directly to the XBOX Ally X20 over a single USB-C cable, while Command Center integration is designed to make the pairing easier to use.
For Malaysian gamers, ROG will offer the XBOX Ally X20, ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses and the complete ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle as separate purchasing options. This means buyers can either go for the handheld on its own, pick up the AR glasses separately, or go all-in with the anniversary collector’s bundle.
But at the time of writing, they have not revealed any price info, so do look out for the day when they actually open the preorders.
