RHB has released a new gear for merchants, the Sound Box Plus, to help sellers manage multiple payment channels through a single unit as digital payment adoption continues to grow across Malaysian businesses. The device supports both DuitNow QR and debit or credit card payments, and comes equipped with NFC technology, built-in SIM connectivity, and real-time voice payment alerts, aimed at cutting down operational complexity while keeping payment acceptance fast and secure.

The launch builds on RHB’s earlier Sound Box devices, including its Static and Dynamic DNQR Sound Box solutions, and it is also a more cost-effective alternative to conventional card terminals while still covering a broad range of payment types.
The Sound Box Plus also adds a layer of payment assurance through real-time voice alerts that confirm successful transactions immediately, helping merchants guard against risks like fraudulent payment claims, backed by RHB’s existing security infrastructure.
The device also removes the need for printed receipts, supporting a more sustainable, digital-first way of operating while still maintaining reliable payment acceptance during busy periods. It’s particularly suited to merchants handling card transactions under RM250, in line with NFC tap payment limits, while DuitNow QR transactions remain subject to each merchant’s individual online banking thresholds.
