The MSI Vector GP76 has a sleek and modern design that is shared with the GS series. The overall chassis has a slim profile and a sand-blasted aluminium finish. It feels solid and well-built with a mix of metal and plastic chassis.

The RGB backlit keyboard includes a number pad for those who need it for numeric entry. The RGB can be customised in the steelseries GG software. The overall typing experience is quite positive as the keys have reasonable travel and feedback.

Display

MSI Vector GP76 06

The MSI Vector GP76 has a 17.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) display with a fast refresh rate of 360Hz and a quick response time of 3ms. The fast refresh rate and low response time make the display great for fast-paced games, providing smooth and fluid graphics. That is if you configure the game display settings to fully utilize the 360Hz panel.

Alternatively, I hope MSI would have another screen option such as 1440p with 165Hz refresh rate. I think it would be a much more balanced setup for the RTX 3060.

Performance

GPU performance improves drastically with higher TGP

Our review sample comes with Intel Core i7-12700H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 140W and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Alternatively, there is also higher-end configuration up to Intel Core i9, 64GB RAM and RTX 3080 graphics. That makes it capable of handling even the most demanding games and applications with ease.

At this point, it is worth noting that the 360Hz screen is absolutely wasted if you’re planning to get this laptop for triple-A game titles, even if you’re getting the RTX 3080 graphics configuration. Truth be told, 360Hz can only be fully utilized if you’re playing competitive titles with low graphics configuration to achieve that kind of frame rates.

The laptop also includes multiple storage options, with the ability to add up to three NVMe M.2 SSDs.

Unfortunately, the warranty void sticker prevents us from getting into the internals of the laptop. Nonetheless, there is plenty of information available on the internet regarding the cooling configuration.

MSI Vector GP76 17

It has three fans and six heat pipes that work together to keep the laptop cool and maintain stable performance, even during long gaming sessions. The laptop’s cooling system is also relatively quiet, all thanks to the intelligent cooling management by the MSI Center.

Battery Life

MSI Vector GP76 18

For a 17.3-inch laptop, MSI has gone all-out with the 4-cell 99.9Whr battery. You can expect it to last for about 6 hours when handling normal tasks such as web browsing and document processing. However, due to the laptop’s high-performance hardware, you cannot expect it to last when gaming. Besides, you will need to plug in the laptop in order to harness its full potential.

Conclusion

MSI Vector GP76 05

The MSI Vector GP76 is a high-end gaming laptop that offers excellent performance, a sleek design, and advanced cooling technology. While it is on the expensive side (RM8599), the laptop’s hardware and display make it a great choice for serious competitive gamers who want a esports capable laptop for all those ranked matches.
