ASUS has expanded its lineup of business laptops with the introduction of the new ExpertBook P series. This series caters specifically to enterprises and businesses, offering two distinct models: the P1 and the P5. The main difference between the P series and the existing B series is that the P series cannot be customized with user-specified components. However, both series offer the same after-sales service.
This review focuses on the ASUS ExpertBook P5, the higher-end model of the P series. The P5 is equipped with a variety of built-in AI features powered by the ASUS AI ExpertMeet suite. These features are designed to enhance productivity and streamline workflows, particularly for executives and managers.
AI Transcription: This feature allows you to record meetings or upload recordings and generate detailed meeting minutes. You can even search within the transcript and edit it for accuracy.
AI Summary: The ExpertMeet suite can automatically generate summaries of transcribed meetings, saving you time and effort.
AI Translation: This feature can translate transcribed meetings into multiple languages, making communication and collaboration easier across borders.
AI Transcription: It opens a popup window and we can select it to transcribe all audio picked up by the microphone or playing on the device itself. It will transcribe and can also be translated, then exported into a text file.
Watermarking: The P5 allows you to add watermarks to your screen during video conferences, protecting confidential information. You can add a name card for identification or a custom watermark to hide sensitive content.
Other AI Features: The P5 inherits other AI features found in ASUS laptops, such as AI noise cancellation for microphones.
As for the specs, this laptop does come with:
- Intel Core Ultra 7 258V
- 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 8533MT/s
- 1TB of storage
The screen is also quite unique as it comes with a 14-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2560×1600, but it also has 144Hz refresh rate. Not sure why but I’m not complaining. It also has a matte finish – making it usable both indoors and outdoors without worrying about glare.
Both the keyboard and trackpad are also magnificent – so there aren’t any issues here.
As for the ports, we have:
- 2x Thunderbolt 4
- HDMI
- 3.5mm combo audio jack
- 2x USB-A with 10Gb/s
Should you get the ExpertBook P5?
The ASUS ExpertBook P5 is ideal for business professionals who prioritize portability, long battery life, and a high-quality display. The AI features are particularly useful for executives, managers, and anyone who frequently participates in meetings or video conferences.
