NTT DATA has announced a new partnership with one of the hottest AI tech names right now – Cursor, as they bring the latter’s coding platform into its global software engineering and delivery operations, helping teams design, build, and modernize enterprise systems more efficiently while maintaining the governance and oversight requirements of large organizations.

With more organizations looking beyond cloud migration and focusing on how AI can transform software development itself, NTT DATA is leveraging this trend to accelerate modernization projects, improve delivery consistency across global teams, and support large-scale cloud and AI transformation initiatives for clients. With Cursor, tasks such as code generation, code reviews, refactoring, and legacy application modernization using codebase-wide context can all be joined with AI to ensure enterprise-focused controls, including privacy protections, Single Sign-On integration, centralized administration, policy enforcement, and granular management of AI agent access and behavior.
According to NTT DATA CEO and Chief AI Officer Abhijit Dubey, the partnership is intended to place AI at the core of the company’s engineering and delivery model. He said the approach allows NTT DATA to modernize systems more quickly, improve consistency across projects, and demonstrate practical AI adoption within its own operations before helping customers implement similar strategies.
Meanwhile, Cursor’s COO Jordan Topoleski said the partnership demonstrates how AI can fundamentally change software development and delivery processes at a global scale when combined with structured governance and enterprise-grade controls.
NTT DATA has begun deploying Cursor Enterprise to selected engineering teams and plans to expand usage across its global organization as adoption grows. To support broader implementation, the company also intends to establish a Cursor Center of Excellence that will help scale AI-assisted engineering practices across industries and regional delivery teams.
