To commemorate the 30th anniversary of ThinkPad, Lenovo has brought a special edition of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon into the Malaysian market; let’s take a look at it.

Sporting the iconic ThinkPad logo in red, green, and blue, the special edition ThinkPad X1 Carbon is branded with a 30th Anniversary Edition etching underneath its keyboard, along with commemorative serial numbers engraved on the right hinge cap which start counting from 0001.

On top of that, the packaging is also eco-friendly as it is built from rapid-renewable bamboo sugarcane fiber that is 100% compostable, paired with a specially labeled paper band on the outside. Included in the box is a History of ThinkPad leaflet and ThinkPad X1 logo stickers in classic red, green, and blue.

Equipped with the new Intel vPro Essentials with 12th Gen Intel Core CPU and Windows 11 OS, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 30th Anniversary Edition is capable of delivering faster LPDDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 4 storage options to reduce system latency.

It also features a strong ThinkShield security that is complemented by new Computer Vision technology, which offers significant advances in user presence detection by providing smarter privacy,  easier login convenience, as well as enhanced energy management.

Pricing and Availability

Starting now until 30th November 2022, customers can pre-order the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 30th Anniversary Edition through Lenovo Malaysia’s official website at a price of RM13,359.

Do take note though as there are only 40 units available, and the first 20 customers who pre-order it will receive a designer laptop sleeve and a ThinkPad X1 mouse that are worth RM848 in total.

In addition, LenovoPRO members who purchase the special edition ThinkPad X1 Carbon will be entitled to a T-shirt specially designed by Felix Ip, a Hong Kong illustrator and game artist who is renowned for his work “Hong Kong Machines”.
