A whole bunch of newly refreshed Lenovo ThinkPad laptops is slated for this year as the brand announces them at MWC 2023.
First up we have the Z series ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 and Z16 Gen 2 returning with a new set of hardware which is powered by the AMD Ryzen 700 series mobile processors with Radeon Graphics which means this is the light and portable identity is here to stay. Coupled with up to 64GB RAM and up to 2TB PCIe SSD, everything will be smooth and sailing across all sorts of tasks requiring medium horsepower.
A brand new natural fiber reinforced material bonded with 75% recycled aluminum top cover can be selected upon checkout for that unique yet exquisite look. Other notable features include WiFi 6E, an FHD camera, Dolby Voice-enabled microphones, and the iconic TrackPoint pin where the TrackPoint Quick Menu allows access to all sorts of quick launches and applications.
On the other hand, the X series welcomes the 4th generation of the ThinkPad X13 and X13 Yoga adapting sleeker bezels around the display for a higher screen-to-body-ratio and they both come with the latest selections of mobile CPUs to choose from (AMD and Intel for the standard, and Intel only for the Yoga). If wanted to, it can be configured to host the new 13-3inch 2.8K OLED display with Dolby Vision that pretty much guarantees absolute visual clarity in such a small size while Dolby Audio compatible speakers are there to pump out some nice sounds. The optional 5MP webcam with infrared enables higher security protection by guarding against “Over The Shoulder” glances in addition to the usual Windows Hello login method.
The OG family T series is always about the standardized business design with performance and productivity goals and maintains its core spirit in 2023 as well while the L series goes for the low power scale to get more battery efficiency rating alongside large storage options of up to 2TB PCIe SSD. Lastly, the most value-conscious E series welcomes the E14 Gen 5 together with the new 16-inch model E 16 with improvements focused on the 16:10 aspect ratio displays, refined keyboard, and the large 115mm touchpad. Everything is powered by the 13th Gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors with memory options going as high as 40GB RAM and 2TB PCIe storage with battery capacities available in 47WHr and 57WHr.
