Not too long ago, Twitter user @momomo_us posted a screenshot of what appears to be the packaging of the upcoming Intel Core i9-9900K 9th Gen Coffee Lake. From the packaging itself, you can already tell that this is Intel’s direct response to the premium looking packaging of the AMD Threadripper. The translucent sides allow you to take a peek into the packaging to see how the processor looks like – as well as letting you know that it doesn’t comes with any CPU cooler.
Fancy packaging aside, the supposed Core i9-9900K was temporary listed on Amazon at the price of $582.50 before it’s removed from the public eye.
As far as we know, Intel will be launching two more processors (Core i7-9700K and Core i5-9600K) alongside the Core i9-9900K somewhere around this month.
Model | Cores / Threads | Frequency | Cache | TDP |
Core i9-9900K | 8 / 16 | 3.6GHz to 5GHz | 16MB | 95W |
Core i7-9700K | 8 / 8 | 3.6GHz to 4.9GHz | 12MB | 95W |
Core i5-9600K | 6 / 6 | 3.7GHz to 4.6GHz | 9MB | 95W |
According to Tom’s Hardware, the Core i9-9900K will work with both the existing Z370 chipset motherboards and the upcoming Z390 chipset motherboards – which we can assume that it will be the same for both the Core i7-9700K and Core i5-9600K as well.
