The Malaysia government has introduced a new national programme called AI Untuk Rakyat, and as part of the Merdeka celebration, they have delivered it with YTL AI Labs and MyDIGITAL Corporation through the Rakyat Digital platform, where Malaysians between the ages of 18 to 30 can claim 3 months of ILMUchat Pro, which normally runs RM50 a month.
This all ties back to a bigger push announced in July, when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched AI Malaysia in Cyberjaya alongside the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030. AI Untuk Rakyat is one piece of that puzzle, aiming to build up AI skills across the country, and this particular phase is targeting 100,000 young Malaysians.
