Previously showcased for the first time at COMPUTEX 2025, GIGABYTE has announced it will be launching the AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX soon.
Unlike the conventional eGPU products that only come as an enclosure (for user flexibility of installing their own GPU, but that’s that), the AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX is already running a desktop-grade RTX 5090 powered by the AORUS WATERFORCE system which covers everything from the GPU to the VRAM with a big copper baseplate, a 240mm radiator, dual fans, and an optimized pump. So even when you’re pushing it hard, it stays whisper-quiet while keeping temps under control.
It also comes with the usual knick-knacks of an eGPU including TB5 ports for 80Gbps bandwidth alongside 100W power delivery, and since this is the “big boy Blackwell” card, there’s 32GB of VRAM and over 3000 AI TOPS of performance to limit break laptops beyond their stock computing capabilities, allowing creative works and AI-related developments and workloads to run seamlessly – all locally, if the user desires.
And yes, it has other ports to support a full desktop setup that connects all your external monitors, mice, drawing tablets, or even a wired network, which is nice if you’re someone that brings your laptop out for day jobs, get back home, then just connect it back to the AI BOX to start gaming again.
