G.SKILL has just unveiled the 8th Annual OC World Cup 2024 overclocking competition with a total prize pool of USD$40,000, commencing with the Online Qualifier Stage on hwbot.org from 1st March to 3rd April.
The G.SKILL OC World Cup 2024 unfolds across three stages: Online Qualifier, Live Qualifier, and Grand Final. The top 9 overclockers from the Online Qualifier will then vie during the week of Computex 2024 over at the G.SKILL booth in Nangang Exhibition Hall. After that, the top 3 from the Live Qualifier will compete for the OC Champion title in the Grand Final.
Here’s a quick schedule of the competition:
- Online Qualifier: 1st March 2024 – 3rd April 2024
- Live Qualifier: 4th June 2024 – 6th June 2024
- Grand Final: 7th June 2024
In terms of the challenge stages, the Online Qualifier sees four different challenges: the DDR5 Memory Frequency, PYPrime 32B, 7-ZIP, and SuperPi-32M. Kindly refer to this link for the full details of the Online Qualifier.
When it comes to the prizes, this year’s OC World Cup offers a whooping total prize pool of USD$40,000, with the following breakdown of the cash prize:
- Champion: USD$10,000
- 2nd place: USD$6,500
- 3rd place: USD$5,000
- 4th place: USD$4,200
- 5th place: USD$3,400
- 6th place: USD$3,000
- 7th place: USD$2,800
- 8th place: USD$2,600
- 9th place: USD$2,500
Not only that, the top 9 overclockers in the Online Qualifier will also be entitled to a DDR5-8000 48GB (2x24GB) memory kit. Plus, three lucky participants who complete all four challenge stages of the Online Qualifier will be randomly chosen to bring home a DDR5-7600 32GB (2x16GB) memory kit.
