The new NZXT F series RGB Duo PC fans feature double ARGB light rings at the front and the back of the fan. RGB enthusiasts no longer have to face the dilemma of showing the uglier side of the fan anymore. The F series RGB Duo fans comes in two different sizes – 120mm and 140mm to fit the mainstream PC case needs. PC builders can also opt for the bundle set such as the F120 triple pack or the F140 twin pack that comes together with a RGB controller hub. With black and white colour options to choose from, it should cater to most of the colour theme PC builds in the market.

What we have here in the studio is the black colour F140 RGB Duo twin pack and here’s what you can expect out of the box.

Sliding out the inner compartment reveals both fans and the RGB controller.

The F140 will come in either a single or twin pack while the F120 will have a single or triple pack. I’d love to have a triple pack of F140 so that I could upgrade the NZXT H7 front fans as the case is big enough to support triple 140mm fans at the front.

The screw mounting holes are rubberised to reduce vibrations from transferring to the case.

Each fan has two headers – one 4-pin PWM connector and one 4-pin NZXT proprietary RGB connector. I’d love to see the daisy chain option to reduce the cable clutter.

Accessories

NZXT also includes a 3M velcro pack to “stick” the RGB controller in the case.

Plugging the fans into a system and turn on. Viola! Beautiful ARGB light rings.

With NZXT Cam software, you can customise the light ring to your heart’s content. Unfortunately you cannot customise the lights to be different for the back and the front ring. I’m perfectly fine with that.

Conclusion

NZXT F140RGB Duo 13

While the images might seem a bit washed out with noticeable bright spots, don’t worry, it is just how the photos looks like as I want to show the lighting details instead of overly exposed the ring. Surely some might point out how one can purchase a random RGB fans with double LED rings, do keep in mind most of them are either not customisable or outright blasting at full speed.
