Cisco has announced a new product for data centers, and it is the Cisco N9100 and it’s the brand’s very first NVIDIAÂ partner-developed data center switch built on NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet.
This new gear supports both Cisco NX-OS and SONiC operating systems for greater flexibility towards cloud customers, as well as seamless integration through the Cisco Nexus Dashboard, offering unified management across Silicon One, Cloud-scale ASICs, and Spectrum-X-based systems.
At the enterprise level, Cisco also enhanced its Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA, expanding protection and visibility across AI systems through new security and observability integrations. Meanwhile, in a move that could redefine telecom connectivity, Cisco, NVIDIA, and industry partners jointly introduced the first AI-native wireless stack for 6G, combining sensing and communication capabilities to power future 5G Advanced and 6G applications.
As such, several fronts have been extended thanks to the partnership between the two, and now include:
- Security & Observability: Integration of Cisco AI Defense with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails to protect AI applications, and Splunk Observability Cloud for real-time performance insights across AI infrastructures.
- Core Infrastructure: New support for Cisco Isovalent, Nexus Hyperfabric AI, and UCS servers with NVIDIA HGX B300 and RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, enhancing performance for generative AI and inference workloads.
- Ecosystem Expansion: NVIDIA Run:ai, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform, and Nutanix Unified Storage are now available through Cisco, offering simplified orchestration and containerized inference capabilities.
- Government Readiness: Cisco aligns with NVIDIA AI Factory for Government, providing secure AI frameworks for regulated sectors.
In the telecom space, Cisco will also join the new AI-RAN stack ecosystem from NVIDIA for mobile networks, marking the first AI-native wireless architecture built for the next generation of connectivity by implementing Cisco’s 5G core and user plane functions with NVIDIA’s AI Aerial platform, paving the way for physical AI, integrated sensing, and unmatched efficiency across mobile networks.
