We will find out how to choose a gaming PC right now. Time does not stand still – new high-quality live dealer roulette games appear on new engines, system requirements grow from year to year, and hardware becomes more and more productive. There comes a time when your old computer does not produce more than 30 FPS in new games at high settings. So how do you find the perfect PC?

Choose a PC for Your Needs

We are all different, and we select a PC for specific tasks. If the main thing for a photographer will be work in graphic editors, then for an office worker, work with text editors is a priority. The software differs in system requirements because graphic editors require more PC resources than text editors. Forming a clear idea of why and for what you are buying a computer, you can choose the model you need for yourself without overpaying. Conventionally, the PC can be divided into several groups:

  • Leisure PC – this type of computer has balanced characteristics that will allow you to enjoy your free time on the Internet, as well as playing computer games with low system requirements. They are in a moderate price range.
  • Gaming PCs – Gaming computers are always in high demand for their power and speed. Such a machine easily performs any task, and also allows you to enjoy the gameplay at the maximum graphic settings. They are located in the mid-high price category.
  • PC for standard office work – computers of this type are designed to perform the most basic tasks. They do not differ in power and are not able to provide a comfortable FPS in games. They are in a low price category.
  • PC for demanding creative work – this type of computer is used by creative professionals such as a photo or video editor, 2D or 3D designers and even sound engineers. The PC is being utilised to generate and render content for clients. Hence this is one of the most demanding types of requirement and the PC components of this category is usually very expensive.
  • Home PCs are quiet and reliable, becoming an integral part of the home space, taking pride in place under the table. This type of computer can handle heavy software well and can also allow you to have a good time playing games with average system requirements.

Where to Start Choosing

The Processor

The processor is the heart of the machine, which is responsible for control and computation. The stronger the processor, the more information it can process while reducing the overall time period. Modern processors have cores that are responsible for the execution of many tasks at the same time. The more cores, the stronger the processor. In turn, the cores can overclock, changing their clock frequency. An important aspect in terms of choosing a processor will be the multi-threading function. With its help, the kernels create additional threads of execution, speeding up the PC. So, buying a 4-core processor is a must for entry-level gaming.

Which Video Card to Choose for a PC

The next important aspect will be the choice of a video card. This component is responsible for video processing. The more powerful your video card is, the better for “heavy” computer games. After all, a productive video adapter will allow you to keep it stable. On top of that, you should be spending a huge chunk of your budget on a high-performance graphics card. There’s no point getting a high-end CPU and pair it with mid or low-end graphics. In fact, games nowadays can even play on a 4-core system as long as the GPU is powerful enough.

How Much RAM Is Needed

RAM plays an equally important role in the overall performance of your computer. At the moment, the world uses the DDR4 standard – fast and energy-efficient. You can also find the older DDR3 standard, which is still used in older computers but we won’t recommend you to get those despite being cheap. For a gaming PC, you should have at least 16GB of RAM, best if you can fork out extra for 32GB; for office and home, 8-16 gigabytes will be enough.
