CES is the place where you get to experience what the company’s designer has come up with for the past few months or even years. Today, ASUS ROG has announced the Zephyrus G14 with some innovative design as opposed to the Zephyrus G15 which focus on bringing the best gaming components to the masses.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14
CPU | AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS (8 cores 16 threads) |
GPU | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 |
RAM | up to 2x 16GB DDR4-3200 |
Storage | up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD |
Display | 14-inch IPS 1080p 120Hz or 1440p 60Hz Adaptive Sync PANTONE Validated |
When we first saw the Zephyrus G14’s photo, we thought the design team has incorporated a pixelated logo design on the back of the lid. Until we have a closer look only to realise that is a dot matrix LED display. Dubbed as the AniMe Matrix LED, the 6,536 precision-cut holes on the lid with 1,215 mini LEDs lets users show custom graphics, animation and other effects.
Here’s a short video on the design story.
Putting the party trick aside, the chassis colour is also an interesting one. Following the previous year’s Glacier Blue series laptop, the Zephyrus G14 comes in Moonlight White or Eclipse Gray for that clean and professional looks.
The ROG Zephyrus G14 also supports USB-C Power Delivery for charging over the USB-C port. The WiFi module has been upgraded to WiFi 6 (802.11ax) for higher bandwidth.
No news on the pricing and availability at the time of writing.
