Biwin has announced that its Amber CB500 CFexpress Type B card is now the world’s first to receive VPG800 certification from the CompactFlash Association to empower filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators to record 8K RAW, high frame rate, and uncompressed video with total stability.
The Amber CB500 is capable of delivering up to 3750 MB/s read and 3500 MB/s write speeds that cover the needs of semi-pro 4K recording all the way up to industry-leading 12K resolution in RAW format. When paired with the Biwin Amber RB510 high-speed card reader, users can experience transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, greatly accelerating post-production and file offloading.
Its VPG800 certification, based on the Video Performance Guarantee Profile 5.0 standard, ensures consistent write speeds of 800 MB/s across long takes, making it ideal for advanced shooting scenarios such as oversampled 4K/6K recording, multi-camera live broadcasts, virtual production, and immersive VR/AR content creation.
Biwin also made sure it is made for extreme situations too, thanks to its aluminum alloy shell with thermal conductive gel for efficient heat dissipation as well as a durable build that offers protection against shocks, drops, impacts, wear, magnets, and X-rays. Speaking from a temperature standpoint, it can operate optimally between -12°C and +72°C.
