ASUS Malaysia has announced that the new ROG Rapture GT-BN98 series and the ZenWiFi BN12 will be coming to the local market in the coming weeks.

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 series comes in two flavors, the GT-BN98 Pro and the standard GT-BN98, both built on quad-band WiFi 8 architecture capable of up to 30,000 Mbps of total wireless throughput. Even if you’re not running WiFi 8 devices yet, ASUS says its engineering tests show real performance gains when paired with existing WiFi 7 gear, essentially future-proofing your setup ahead of the wider WiFi 8 rollout. New features baked into WiFi 8, like Unequal Modulation and Non-Primary Channel Access, are also designed to improve connection stability and cut down on interference as more compatible devices hit the market.
On the hardware side, the router runs on a 2.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM to handle demanding network loads, and it offers flexible wired connectivity through two 10Gbps ports and four 2.5Gbps LAN ports. ASUS packed a 16-antenna array into eight external antennas using a 3D structural design, backed by an upgraded thermal system to keep performance steady over time.
For anyone with a larger home, the ZenWiFi BN12 is shaping up to be the world’s first 12-stream tri-band WiFi 8 mesh system. It uses ASUS’s 2x LDPC wall-penetration tech to cover spaces up to 7,000 square feet, with dual 10Gbps ports enabling fast wired backhaul between mesh nodes. It also comes with AiProtection Pro and parental controls built in, no subscription required, and it’s compatible with existing ASUS AiMesh setups if you’re already in that ecosystem.
If you’re in Malaysia, the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 (BN25000) is set to launch in mid-October, with pre-orders opening at the end of September. The rest of the WiFi 8 lineup, including the ZenWiFi BN12, is expected to roll out globally starting in October as well.
