ASUS has released its latest professional-grade cardioid USB microphone: the ROG Carnyx, which is designed to provide streamers and gamers alike with enhanced natural and immersive sound.
To begin with, the Carnyx boasts a 25mm condenser capsule 24-bit/192 kHz sampling rate for better low-frequency performance and high-fidelity sound reproduction. It is equipped with a robust all-metal shock mount that packs elastic suspension cables to isolate the mic from external vibrations such as keystrokes or mouse clicks.
The microphone also features a cardioid polar pattern and a studio-grade high-pass filter that cuts out unwanted low-frequency background noises below 80Hz. Plus, it employs a built-in pop filter with foam and mesh layers to mitigate plosives when the mic is placed up close.
Furthermore, the Carnyx includes a one-touch mute button as well as a multi-functional control knob that enables users to seamlessly tweak various settings. And of course, it also has a 3.5 mm headset jack, with volume adjustment enabled via the multi-functional control knob.
In terms of aesthetics, the microphone employs ASUS Aura Sync RGB lighting with six preset lighting effects in the Armoury Crate app. The app also allows users to activate the high-pass filter, customize EQ profiles, adjust RGB lighting, and so on.
