Robust and Tool-less Design
The first thing you’ll notice about the NUC 15 Pro is how small it is.
It still has that classic 4×4-inch look, but ASUS fixed the one thing everyone hated: getting inside it.
They call it Tool-less Design 2.0. In plain English, that means you can open the case and swap out your RAM or storage without hunting for a screwdriver.
Just a simple pull at the latch and the bottom chassis can be opened to reveal the internal components.
Everything just snaps or slides into place. It’s a huge relief for anyone who likes to upgrade their own gear. Of course, if you wish to secure the internal components, the latch could be screwed down with just a single screw. At least this design significantly reduce the use of the screwdriver.
Even though it’s small, it doesn’t feel like a toy. It passed MIL-STD-810H testing, which is basically the military’s way of saying it can handle heat, humidity, and being bumped around. Whether it’s tucked behind a monitor or living in a busy workshop, it feels built to last.
Ports and Connections: It Punches Above Its Weight
The NUC 15 Pro comes in two SKUs – Slim and Tall.
The Tall SKU would feature an expansion slot to install additional accessories such as ports and M.2 slot.
You get two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which are great because you can hook up high-speed drives or run up to four 4K monitors at once.
It’s also future-proofed with Wi-Fi 7. Most people don’t have Wi-Fi 7 routers yet, but when you do, this machine will be ready for those crazy-fast internet speeds and lower lag.
Performance: More Than Just “Fast Enough”
Inside, it’s running the new Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) chips. This is where the “Pro” part of the name really comes in. It uses a “Triple Engine” setup—CPU, GPU, and a new NPU (Neural Processing Unit). Together, they give the system about 99 TOPS of power for AI tasks.

Even when we pushed it hard for half an hour, the fan stayed quiet—just a soft hum that you’d barely notice in a normal room. No annoying high-pitched whistling here.
