Dell’s gaming division Alienware has also participated in CES 2025 and here’s what they have showed off at the venue.
First, we have the return of the ‘Area-51’ family that covers both desktop and laptop segments. Starting with the new desktop model, this is a full-size 80L tower aiming for maximum performance by having the ability to host up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU powered by high wattage PSU with extra overhead for stable current delivery.
Its scalable design features industry-standard components, ensuring easy upgrades for the motherboard, power supply, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and fans. The desktop incorporates a new cooling system with dual 140mm, 180mm, and optional 120mm fans for liquid cooling, reducing internal temperatures by up to 13% and noise levels by 45% during intensive tasks. Maintenance is simplified with removable air filters and QR codes linking to instructional videos for upgrades and maintenance. Additionally, the desktop is constructed with 85% post-consumer recycled plastics and power supply units featuring recycled steel and copper, aligning with sustainability goals.
Meanwhile, the laptops are offered in 16-inch and 18-inch models for this year and feature a redesigned chassis to host various Intel Core Ultra CPUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs of up to 280W in total power consumption. Memory config-wise, it can take in as much as 12TB of PCIe 5.0 SSDs as well as fast DDR5 RAM of up to 7200MT/s with the full system chilled by the Cryo-tech cooling system with improved airflow by upwards of 37% while operating 15% quieter.
Aesthetics are complemented by the Liquid Teal anodized aluminum finish, Aurora Borealis-inspired lighting, and a translucent thermal shelf illuminated by AlienFX animations, creating a futuristic and visually striking aesthetic.
As for the Aurora lineup of desktops, this is a mid-sized tower designed to offer a compact yet powerful gaming solution and similarly features Intel Core Ultra Series 2 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU.
The gaming monitor department also welcomed a new member – the Alienware 27 4K QD-OLED offering 240Hz refresh rate, 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, color accuracy of Delta E<2, Dolby Vision HDR + VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification as well as the renowned tear-free refresh rate matching technology from NVIDIA, AMD, and VESA. It also has a quirky little switch that allows users to switch between DCI-P3 and sRGB color spaces, allowing even creators to do their professional work and game on the same monitor.
Additionally, it supports HDMI 2.1 FRL protocol that enables Variable Refresh Rate and eARC support which is a nice QoL inclusion while the AW30 design language paints the monitor in an Interstellar Indigo color.
Notable features include an On-Screen Display User Interface, Alienware Command Center 6.6 support, and anti-OLED burn-in technology via AL algorithm and graphite sheet.
