Some of the CES 2024 products announced by Acer back in January have been steadily moving into Malaysia with yesterday’s event showing off several laptops and a prebuilt gaming desktop.
First, we have the Predator Helios 18 and Helios 16 duo carrying 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 with up to 330W TDP together with an up to 16:10 MiniLED 250Hz display to bring out the ultimate desktop gaming performance within a portable form factor.
The underlying 5th Gen AeroBlade + liquid metal thermal grease + vector heat pipes provide all the necessary cooling for the powerful hardware while a special MagKey 3.0 keyboard is implemented to bring customization and feeling towards the WASD keys.
Choose either the MagClick clicky switch for nice tactile feedback or MagSpeed for faster actuation and better RGB diffusion (Both of them come with the laptop purchase by the way, no additional purchase is needed).
And there’s the usual PredatorSense software allowing various RGB customization, the Infinity Mirror RGB strip on the back, and a standard range of I/O ports.
On the other hand, the Predator Helios Neo 16 goes for 14th Gen Intel Core i7, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, up to 16GB DDR5-5600 RAM, and up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD – a pretty higher than average specifications for all sorts of games in the market right now.
The display is a nice 2560×1600 240Hz IPS panel while the same cooling system that powers the Helios 18/16 is within the Helios Neo 16 as well. The 4-zone RGB keyboard backlit powers the shiny keys with the rest of the package wrapped up by an Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro wireless connection and various I/O ports including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and microSD reader.
Home gamers, on the other hand, may look at the refreshed Nitro 50 equipped with Intel Core i5-14400F and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 within a tall 18L chassis that also houses 8GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD with various vacant slots for future upgrades.
Gamers can also use PredatorSense to tune various performance and lighting parameters to their likings.
