LG has officially announced part of the new UltraGear gaming monitors for CES 2025 and the lineup’s name is the UltraGear GX9 series.
The duo that will be showcased over there is the 45GX990A and 45GX950A designed to be 45-inch and 21:9 aspect ratio that boasts a superior and premium 5K2K resolution (or 5120 x 2160) for an even better ultra-wide gaming experience as well as enhanced screen estate for productivity tasks such as video editing.
We’ll first look at the GX9 45GX990A which is the very first OLED panel-based bendable gaming monitor that allow users to adjust the curvature from complete flatness to a 900R curve in seconds. It also comes with a lightning-fast 0.03ms GtG response time for quick and responsive visual updates. However, the official news is a bit vague on the refresh rate numbers so it still unknown at this point.
On the other hand, if bendable screens are still a bit too “future” for your taste, then stick to the GX9 45GX950A which is a non-bendable model coming at 800R curvature and presumable similar specs to the 45GX990 when it comes to refresh rate/response time/color accuracy and so on.
Its highlights also detail 125 PPI and RGWB subpixel layout for enhanced text readability, loads of I/O including DP2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W PD, as well as being certified for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
Both models are powered by LG’s 2nd-gen Dual Mode feature that hosts up to 8x preset configurations of aspects ratios (21:9 or 16:9) and picture sizes (39/34/27 inches) so that gamers can easily switch between their best and optimal settings for different games such as FPS, RPG, MOBA, or even racing sims. Additionally, they are running LG’s latest WOLED tech with upgraded visual specifications, lower blue light emission, as well as Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating reduces screen reflections and glare, enhancing visibility in bright environments.
For a final note, there’s also the UltraGear 39GX90SA which is a 39-inch curved OLED model with 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curvature, USB-C ports, webOS-equipped interface, and an ergonomic L-shaped stand serving as its key selling points.
