The Lenovo PHAB2 series phablets has been officially launched in Malaysia. The series comes in 3 different models - PHAB2, PHAB2 Plus and PHAB2 Pro; All sharing the same gigantic 6.4-inch display footprint.
The Lenovo PHAB2 Pro is the highest spec out of the three which also comes equipped with Google's Project Tango. If you're not familiar with Project Tango, it is basically a highly specialised augmented reality experience that made possible through the combination of hardware and software.
The phone runs a customised Qualcomm Snapdragron 652 Octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that supports MicroSD up to 256GB. Other than the 16MP camera at the back, the PHAB2 Pro also comes with an arsenal of sensors for advanced field and motion tracking. Front facing camera gets a modest 8MP f/2.2 shooter.
Even with all those sensors at the back, the PHAB2 Pro also comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back. The 6.4-inch display comes with 1440p Quad HD IPS panel. Powering all those components is the 4050mAh battery. Retails at RM1899.
As expensive as it might seem for the normal eyes, the PHAB2 Pro is a very unique device and probably is the ONLY consumer device that supports Project Tango. This device could be the best offering for developers.
